Prof. Dr. Volker Nürnberg completed his doctorate in education management and trained future vocational school teachers at the Technical University of Munich for 15 years (1st state examination / later Bachelor, Master). He has been involved in all facets of health economics for 20 years. Initially, he implemented operational concepts at statutory health insurance companies (as Managing Director at AOK and BKK until 2011). He was then an authorized signatory at the global HR consultancy Mercer and has been a partner at the auditing and consulting firm BDO since 2017. He has taught academically at the Technical University of Munich since 2007, received his first business administration professorship in 2011 and has been Professor of Health Management at Allensbach University of Applied Sciences since 2019. There he conducts research on telemedicine, health and the internet, second medical opinions and current (corporate) healthcare policy. Volker Nürnberg is a member of various associations and supervisory boards and is one of the most sought-after speakers and authors on health topics in Germany.
