Start-up management: From the idea to your own company

After completing the university certificate "Start-up Management: From the idea to your own company", you will be familiar with the individual phases of the process of setting up a company and the management, marketing and financing challenges that you will encounter during this process. You will be able to identify the most important success and failure factors of start-up projects and analyze them in specific practical cases. The certificate program will give you the ability to evaluate the feasibility of business ideas and to understand the interplay between business idea and business model. As a result of your studies, you will know how to set up a business plan, be able to describe the content of the individual areas of a business plan and justify the relevant decisions in each case. You will be familiar with possible causes of crises in start-up processes and will be able to develop crisis management approaches. Also important: As an employee, you will acquire the skills to think and act entrepreneurially as an "intrapreneur" and thus, for example, to promote innovations or new business areas.

The university certificate in "Start-up Management" will give you an overview of the possibilities of start-up financing and enable you to form an opinion on the advantages of the individual financing options in specific decision-making situations. You will also learn about special forms of financing and support instruments for start-up financing and find out how to structure the financing process in the best possible way. The university certificate "Start-up Management" concludes with two assignments and can be fully credited towards the Bachelor's degree course B.A. Business Administration.

You will complete the following two modules as part of your certificate program:

• Entrepreneurship (12 ECTS)
• Start-up financing (12 ECTS)

You complete each of these two modules with a submission task.
