The target group for this university certificate are people who do not have a teaching degree but are nevertheless working in the field of adult education, for example as a lecturer at a master craftsman or technical college, in a commercial, health science or technical further education course at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce or in the teaching profession, or who are aiming for such a job, e.g. via lateral or side entry. The contents of this certificate have been adapted to the Master in Business Education taken from the Allensbach University of Applied Sciences.
The certificate is also suitable for students who need to gain additional ECTS in the field of education in order to be admitted to a teaching-related Master's degree program, for example. If necessary, all modules of this certificate can also be taken and booked individually. This also applies to all other modules from the Master's in Business Education.
You complete each of these three modules with a portfolio task.
You will receive 20 ECTS credits for the university certificate, which you can apply towards the Master's program in Business Education of the Allensbach University of Applied Sciences*.

Your studies comprise three modules, each of which concludes with a portfolio assignment:
Learning and teaching I
Designing learning situations didactically and sequencing lessons (10 ECTS)
After successfully completing this module, you will be able to explain general didactic and subject-didactic principles and content, comprehensively describe teaching methods and compare them with regard to their target horizons as well as develop learning situations in a scientifically sound manner and implement them in complex teaching-learning arrangements. They can describe, compare and structure teaching methods in terms of the sequencing of teaching units. They are also able to develop, compare and evaluate didactic annual plans in selected training occupations in a scientifically sound manner.
The module also enables you to research and analyze current didactic findings. This will enable you to discuss subject-specific didactic content and findings with colleagues and reflect on your own knowledge. Overall, you will develop a self-image for the design of learning environments in vocational education and training and as a future actor in the vocational education and training system.
Learning and teaching II
Designing learning environments with digital media (5 ECTS)
In this module, you will learn what tasks digital media has in store for teachers and learners and how various digital media can be designed and used effectively for teaching and learning settings. This module introduces you to the media-didactic concepts of digital media in a practice-oriented way and gives you a deep insight into the factors influencing media-didactic lesson design. You will learn about various useful apps, programs and learning management systems in the field of digital education.
They will be able to develop a subject-specific didactic concept in a cooperative, targeted and appropriate manner and present it in an appropriate form. You will develop an understanding of the detailed process of a media-didactic teaching concept in order to apply and further develop it yourself. You will then be able, for example, to use a video conferencing tool professionally, create a course as a teacher on the Moodle learning platform and plan and create a video tutorial or explanatory video both technically and didactically. After completing this module, you will also be familiar with the use of digital media for learning and work processes and their limitations.
Learning and teaching III
Developing learning environments in a research-oriented way (5 ECTS)
In this module, you will deepen and apply the knowledge acquired in the first module "Teaching and Learning I". After successfully completing this module, you will be able to design and develop the individual lessons in a series of lessons for a very specific learning group, taking into account a curriculum and the annual didactic plan derived from it, in accordance with the analysis of the learning group's conditions, the learning objectives and skills as well as the didactic and methodological decisions.
You will be able to summarize current findings from subject-specific didactic research on the design of learning environments in a specific educational context and incorporate them into development processes. You will be able to assess your own subject-specific didactic problem solutions according to scientific and practical professional criteria and understand your subject-specific didactic actions against the background of theoretical-conceptual and empirical approaches and develop professionalization.
The entire university certificate comprises 20 ECTS.
The standard period of study is six months. You can extend the duration of your studies by a further six months free of charge.
