The compact MBA program for managers - in just 12 months

Have you already obtained a first university degree with at least eight semesters or 240 ECTS, e.g. a Diplom Universität or Diplom FH, and would like to gain further qualifications in the field of business administration at Master's level? Then the MBA in General Management is just right for you!

Business knowledge is essential in many areas, and an MBA in General Management also qualifies you as an expert in business issues when dealing with customers. For example, the program is suitable for engineers with management experience who also have budget responsibility, or lawyerswho are active in the field of commercial law or insolvency law. Also physicians or natural scientists in management positions benefit from an MBA program.

Maximum flexibility in distance learning

The MBA program is offered as a distance learning course and can be completed part-time and with maximum flexibility. The program is designed for a study period of twelve months designed. During your studies, you have to complete six examinations - one of which is your Master's thesis, in which you explore a topic of your choice in greater depth.

You can start the course at any time. You will acquire the required skills online and without compulsory attendance at a renowned university with a first-class teaching and service concept. The course has been reaccredited by the accreditation agency ZEvA and is approved by the State Central Agency for Distance Learning (ZFU).

This degree is internationally recognized and entitles you to apply for a doctorate.

And if you want to achieve even more: You have the option of choosing from various specializations, which you can book flexibly; individual modules are also possible. You will then receive a separate university certificate for any additional examinations you take.

Admission requirements

You already have a first, non-economic university degree with at least 240 ECTS (e.g. Bachelor's degree, state examination or diploma from any type of university) and at least three years of relevant professional experience, including at least one year as a manager.

They also have English language skills at level B2 of the Cambridge Certificate. If you have not taken a test, you can also prove your English language skills in a telephone test.

If you have already completed comparable coursework in a Master's program or comparable program at another university, recognition is generally possible. Please contact our student advisory service.

How is your course structured?

1st semester: Scientific work, strategic management, marketing and accounting

In the first semester, you will receive an introduction to academic work and self-management. This should help you to adapt to the customs of academic work in economics. The methods and techniques of self-management should also provide you with valuable soft skills that can help you cope with your studies. In the "Management & Organization" module, you will receive an introduction to business administration, but also deal with strategic management and marketing. Finally, you will gain in-depth knowledge of internal and external accounting in the "Accounting & Controlling" module.

2nd semester: International Business, Investment and Finance and your Master's thesis

In the second semester, you will deal with the basic procedures and concepts of capital budgeting and corporate finance. In the "International Business" module, you will learn about internationalization strategies, deal with questions of international personnel management and gain insights into public affairs management.

The Master's thesis is an independent research project that concludes your studies. Here you demonstrate that you can work independently on a problem from the subject areas of the Master's program using scientific methods. Of course, you will be individually supervised by our professors during this phase.

How long will your studies take and what degree will you receive?

The standard period of study is 12 months.

It is possible to extend the duration of study by up to 6 months free of charge, so that the course can be completed in 12 to 18 months, depending on individual time planning.

Start of studies: at any time

Once you have successfully completed all examinations, the university will award you the academic degree "Master of Business Administration (MBA)", which also entitles you to do a doctorate.
