Work and organizational psychology

Occupational and organizational psychology sees itself as an empirical science that measures its ideas and assumptions against reality with the help of studies and investigations. Theories validated in this way form the basis for systematic interventions in practice, e.g. on the following questions:

  • What measures can we take to increase our employees' motivation to work?
  • How can we prevent stress from developing in the workplace?

The aim is therefore to familiarize you with the central theories of the respective subject area in order to understand the procedures, concepts and instruments used in practice and to be able to examine and evaluate them with regard to their scientific content.

The aim is also for you to be able to independently establish application references in your personal professional practice, identify points of reference for necessary interventions and be able to accompany these competently. To this end, this course is enriched with a large number of examples and refers to specific psychological procedures and measuring instruments.

While the first part of your studies dealt with the interactions between the individual and the organization, the second part deals with central psychological aspects relating to the actual purpose of embedding people in organizations: Work.

At the center of psychological considerations is the question of how work must be designed so that people approach their work tasks with joy, derive satisfaction from their work and do not have to fear negative physical and psychological effects.

Who is the course suitable for?

The course is particularly suitable for people with personnel responsibility who want to establish and implement psychology-oriented personnel development and who want to increase the motivation and performance of their employees with suitable measures.
