Corporate governance and compliance
You will learn about the national and international legal foundations in the area of corporate governance. You will gain an overview of the rights and obligations of the Management Board, shareholders, Supervisory Board and auditors in order to identify the need for action in your own company. A special focus is placed on the German Corporate Governance Code - by finding the relevant standards, understanding their statements and applying their regulatory content to specific cases.
"Compliance" means "adherence to certain laws or rules". You will be able to recognize the relevance of compliance within your company and assess the most important tasks of the compliance officer.
Who is the course suitable for?
You work in senior management, on the management board or as a board member and are responsible for adherence to governance and compliance guidelines or their systemic introduction. You are active as a member of the supervisory board and are responsible for monitoring management.

You will receive 5 ECTS for the university certificate, which can be credited towards the Master of Finance or the Master of Business Administration and Management*.

What are the admission requirements?
There are no special admission requirements for this course. A submission task must be completed as an examination, which can be worked on at home.

Responsibility (CSR) - The German Corporate Governance Code (GCGC)
- Selected elements of the corporate governance system
- Management and monitoring using the balanced scorecard Supervisory Board efficiency review and reporting
- Compliance in the company: Compliance with laws and regulations, interfaces between compliance and CSR
- Organization of compliance in the company
- Legal compliance and liability
- Problem areas of compliance: e.g. tax compliance, accounting compliance, health, safety and environmental compliance, IT compliance
How long will your studies take?
The standard period of study is six months. You can extend the duration of your studies by a further six months free of charge.
