The term "Family Office Management" refers to services that deal with the management of large private assets. The main organizational forms considered here are family-owned companies in which family assets are bundled. According to an estimate by UBS, there are around 11,000 family offices in Germany, forming a market segment that offers excellent development and employment opportunities.
As "Certified Wealth Manager at Allensbach University" you will have specialized knowledge that will qualify you for the increasingly attractive profession of family officer or advisor to wealthy private clients.

- Corporate Governance and Compliance (5 ECTS)
You complete both modules with a submission task, which you can take flexibly on the central examination dates.
You will also complete three main modules on Family Office Management:
- Business models and core services (5 ECTS)
- Legal and tax topics (5 ECTS)
- Family Governance, Trusted Advisor and Life Consulting (5 ECTS)
You will complete each of these three modules with an assignment. (Current interview by Prof. Dr. Maximilian Werkmüller)
For the university certificate you will receive 25 ECTSwhich can be credited towards the Master M.A. Finance at Allensbach University.*
The university certificate is online, without attendance and without compulsory attendance completed. Examinations can be taken in the form of assignments.

*Provided you meet the admission requirements for the Master's program. In the modules on Family Office Management, a term paper (approx. 15 pages) would have to be written as an examination if these are to be fully credited towards the M.A. Finance.

The online certificate Certified asset manager contains the following modules:
Business models and core services of family office management (5 ECTS)
You will first receive an overview of the market and deal with business models, core services and possible legal forms of family offices. Asset allocation and controlling of a family office are further important topics in this module. The final chapter discusses remuneration structures for family office services and limitations of liability.
Legal and tax issues in family office management (5 ECTS)
The second module focuses in particular on the legal and tax structuring of family assets and asset succession planning. Here you will also learn about the most important tax aspects of inheritance law and company law. Furthermore, the professional restrictions and regulations of a family office and the principles of "asset protection" and "mergers & acquisitions" will be discussed in more detail. Finally, you will deal with the regulation of family offices in accordance with the German Banking Act (KWG).
Family Governance, Trusted Advisor and Life Consulting in Family Office Management (5 ECTS)
In this module, you will learn to assess the importance of functioning family governance in family businesses and to advise companies on the formulation of appropriate guidelines. You will also deal with the topic of "Life Consulting" and will be able to differentiate between the "Trusted Advisor" and "Private Wealth Manager" advisory approaches. Other topics in this module include the principles of risk analysis for members of the family and data protection in social networks.
Portfolio Management (5 ECTS)
In this module, you will learn about the concept of return as a universal, standardized criterion and how it is determined. You will also deal with the security and risk of investments. Portfolio theory and the consideration of model portfolios are a central topic of this module, whereby the effects of inflation and leverage are also taken into account. The consideration of prices and the management of transactions round off this module.
Corporate Governance and Compliance (5 ECTS)
Corporate governance is one of the most discussed management topics today. In this module, you will learn to evaluate the theoretical as well as national and international legal foundations of corporate governance and identify the need for action in your own company. You will also be able to explain the rights and obligations of the management board, shareholders, supervisory board and auditors. Compliance essentially describes the obligation to adhere to the rules and laws applicable to a company. In this module, you will learn to recognize the relevance of compliance and to assess the most important tasks of the compliance officer. Accordingly, you will be able to establish an appropriate compliance and risk culture as well as a safety culture and monitor the effectiveness of such management systems using corresponding key indicators.
The standard period of study is ten months. You can extend the duration of your studies by a further ten months free of charge.
