The University Certificate in Integration and Diversity Management comprises the two modules Diversity Management and Intercultural Integration Management from the M.A. in Business Education and aims to qualify participants to competently face the challenges of integration and diversity efforts in their professional or organizational environment.

Target group of the university certificate

The university certificate is primarily aimed at (prospective) practitioners in the fields of human resources, diversity and inclusion management or marketing and communication management. Business managers can also use the skills acquired for diversity- and inclusion-oriented strategic corporate management and qualify corresponding management decisions.

The focus of the certificate course is to acquire sufficient skills to promote diversity in the world of work in Germany and to establish this concept as an integral part of all organizations. Organizations should create a working environment that is free of prejudice. It is important that organizations understand diversity as a fabric of numerous elements and levels and establish and anchor diversity management accordingly.

What are the admission requirements?

Admission requirements are vocational training or a first professionally qualifying degree, e.g. Bachelor, Diplom FH, Diplom BA, Diplom Universität. The examination board decides on exceptions.

How is your course structured?

Your course comprises two modules, each of which concludes with an assignment:

Diversity Management (10 ECTS)
After successfully completing this module, you will be able to explain the basic mechanisms of social categorization, analyse the causes and consequences of social categorization and classify the background to the special situation of different social groups (e.g. with regard to gender, ethnicity, age, social status). They know what is meant by diversity and are also familiar with the legal foundations of diversity management. You are familiar with the options (training, strategies) for dealing with diversity and can develop new approaches to diversity management.

Intercultural Integration Management (10 ECTS)
After successfully completing this module, you will be familiar with the characteristics and objectives of intercultural integration management and know the current challenges of intercultural integration management in their social framework conditions and ethical consequences. You will be able to weigh up and apply alternative problem-solving strategies and solve operational and strategic problems in the field of intercultural integration management.

The entire university certificate comprises 20 ECTS.
