Personnel development and employee motivation

The university certificate "Personnel management and business psychology" comprises two modules of the Bachelor's degree program in Business Administration. Among other things, you will learn about the processes involved in mergers and company takeovers and how personnel development works, from needs analysis to performance appraisal. You will be able to develop and use the instruments of psychology-oriented personnel development. During your studies, you will deepen your knowledge of business administration with regard to the experience and behavior of people as participants in economic processes, especially in their role as employees. Specifically, it is about the controlled effect of controllable environmental conditions in the direction of a desired reaction: For example, which working conditions promote the motivation and performance of employees?

Further training at university level

For the university certificate you will receive 18 ECTSwhich can be fully credited to the Bachelor's degree program (provided you have a university entrance qualification). So you don't lose any time!

  • Duration of study: 6 months + 6 months free extension
  • Credit Points: 18 ECTS
  • Examination form: Submission task and online exam
  • Start of studies: at any time
  • Tuition fees: EUR 165 per month, EUR 990 in total.

The university certificate is online, without attendance and without compulsory attendance completed. The exams can be taken from home.

What are the admission requirements?

There are no special admission requirements for the university certificate.

What credits are possible?

If you have already completed comparable work at another university, it is possible to receive credit towards the university certificate. We will be happy to check for you individually which credits we can offer you. Talk to our student advisory service!

How is your course structured?

Your studies include two modules, which conclude with an open-book exam and an assignment:

Human Resources Management (6 ECTS)

You will learn about all the important areas of personnel management, from personnel requirements planning to personnel selection and dismissal. You will also deal with various management styles and tools. Topics such as motivation, coaching and mentoring as well as performance appraisals form the interface with psychology.

Exam form: Online exam

Work and Organizational Psychology (12 ECTS)

You will be familiar with the major sub-areas of organization, personnel and work and will be able to explain in detail the aspects that lead to satisfaction with your own work. Further content of your studies includes the model-theoretical aspects of work system design through to the psychology of occupational safety and new forms, such as telecooperation, as well as the concepts of training research in the context of training and further education measures.

Exam form: Submission task

The entire university certificate comprises  18 ECTS.

How long will your studies take and what degree will you receive?

The standard period of study is one semester, i.e. six months. You can extend the duration of your studies by a further six months free of charge. After successfully completing all modules, the university will award you the "Human Resource Management and Business Psychology" university certificate.
